The Department of Psychology requires that students enrolled in certain psychology courses earn research credit by participating in a research project(s) equal to 12 fifteen minute credits (three hours total), or by completing the alternative research paper described in the course syllabus. All research projects are approved by the UC Institutional Review Board. Participation in research helps the department achieve its mission while providing you with a useful view of psychological research, thereby giving you greater insight into the nature of this fundamental aspect of psychology. The alternative research activity requires a similar time commitment, but does not include your being a participant in research studies as part of the Psychology Department Participant Pool.
